Today I woke up to one of the most glorious sunrise that you can think of...as I explained yesterday, the Tiger Mountain lodge offers an unbelievable view of the Annapurna range...I was up on the terrace at 6 AM, ready to take it in...it was incredible...the peak of Machapuchare, Nepal's sacred mountain, offers a magical moment as it turns pink with the sun rising...then we had breakfast with the range in the background...this is as good as it gets...until you find out that Sherpa as locked herself out of the room...did I mention that we did not have magnetic card keys in this part of Nepal...turns out that this wood contraption is safer...to get back in the room, the lodge staff had to remove a window screen and fix the wood contraption that is used to lock the door when you're inside the room...I'm thinking that I have to make a claim with that Sherpa company...I am obviously being overcharged for the skill set...
After breakfast we headed in the valley to do some sightseeing in the city of Pokhara...Pokhara as a population of 300,000 people...we took a ride in a row-boat, that was powered more like a canoe, to get to an island temple...when we got there we mixed in with hundreds of locals there to celebrate the Dashain Napalese Hindu national festival...it's a relegious festival that has been going on since last Tuesday and it last 10 days...so every temple we have been to since landing in Nepal has been packed with pilgrims celebrating Dashain...from there we visited a bunch of other sites in Pokhara...the suspension bridge was real cool...after our Pokhara visit, we came back to the lodge for lunch and then went out for a walk around the area with a naturalist...tomorrow we leave for Chitwan...hopefully the wildlife will cooperate...

Aujourd'hui, les nuages ont coopéré...la vue de la chaine hymalayenne Annapurna prise de la terrasse du Tiger Montain Lodge est tout simplement incroyable...j'étais là pour le lever du soleil...le pic de Machapuchare, montagne sacrée du Népal, offre un moment magique à mesure que le soleil se lève...on pourrait difficilement faire mieux que de prendre le petit-déjeuner sur la terrasse avec les montagnes en arrière plan...jusqu'à ce que vous découvriez que le Sherpa s'est enfermée en dehors de la cabine...j'ai mentionné que nous n'avions pas de cartes magnétiques dans cette partie du Népal...il s'avère que la petite gugus en bois utlisée pour vérrouiller la porte lorsque vous êtes à l'intérieur, est beaucoup plus efficace qu'une carte magnétique...les employés du lodge ont enlevé une fenêtre pour pénétrer à l'intérieur et réparer le truc en bois...je pense que je dois faire une réclamation à la compagnie de Sherpa...je paie certainement trop cher pour la qualité du service...
Après le petit-déjeuner nous avons pris la direction de la vallée pour faire un peu de tourisme dans la ville de Pokhara...la population de Pokhara se chiffre à environ 300,000 personnes...nous avons pris une petite randonnée en chaloupe à rames propulsé par une vielle petite dame qui ramait comme si on était dans un canoë...une fois arrivés à l'île, nous avons visité un temple...il y avait des centaines de gens qui étaient là pour célébrer le festival hindu de Dashain...c'est un festival national qui a commencé mardi dernier et qui dure 10 jours...ainsi chaque temple nous avons visité depuis notre arrivée au Népal était bondé de pèlerins célébrant Dashain...de là nous avons visité d'autres sites dans Pokhara...le pont suspendu était assez cool...après notre visite de Pokhara, nous sommes revenus au lodge pour le déjeuner et pour ensuite prendre une marche autour du domaine avec un naturaliste...demain nous partons pour Chitwan...j'ai bon espoir la faune et flore seront au rendez-vous...
